Mahashivratri - Har Har Mahadev! Tomorrow is Mahashivratri – the day Lord Shiva was united with Shakti. It is held on the 14 th night of the new moon in the month of Phalgun (onset of summer) as per the Hindu Calendar. In honour and as a mark of respect and devotion, Hindus fast for the full day and night of Mahashivratri. This is considered to be the darkest night of the year and it celebrates the grace of Lord Shiva who is said to be the Adi Guru or the first Guru from whom the tradition of Yoga originates. Mahashivratri is celebrated throughout the country in various Ashrams by all self-realised Saints in the presence of their devotees – either in the physical form or remotely – this year due to Corona pandemic, this festival will be mainly celebrated online.
