Trust the Divine Power

The spiritual journey, as illuminated by the profound teachings of His Holiness Shivkrupanand Swamiji and practiced through Himalayan Samarpan Meditation, is fundamentally a journey from body consciousness to soul consciousness. The human condition is typically characterised by a deep identification with the physical form, the fleeting emotions, and the churning intellect - all components of the body-mind complex. This identification, or deh-abhiman, is the root cause of fear, attachment, and the relentless struggle for control. When we perceive ourselves primarily as the body, we operate from a place of limitation, constantly striving to secure transient worldly gains, fearful of loss, and inherently distrustful of the invisible forces that truly govern existence. The spiritual imperative, therefore, is to shift our centre of gravity: to recognise, accept, and live from the eternal, boundless reality of the Soul. This shift necessitates, above all else, a radical and unwavering Trust in the Divine Power.

Swamiji teaches that once we commit to the path of Samarpan Meditation, we are no longer alone in our struggles. The very act of sitting in meditation and sincerely surrendering ourselves to the Universal Energy invokes the omnipresent Divine Power, or Shakti, to take charge of our life. This power is not some external, distant entity; it is the fundamental, intelligent force that maintains the cosmos, breathes life into the body, and guides the inner evolution of every being. The moment we consciously step into this process, the Divine begins the work of purification and transformation, a process far more intricate and perfectly orchestrated than anything our finite minds could ever devise.

The challenge lies in the mind's incessant need for evidence and control. As long as we are rooted in body consciousness, our trust is conditional: "I will trust if I see results," or "I will trust if things go my way." True spiritual trust, born of soul consciousness, is unconditional. It means knowing, deep within our being, that whatever unfolds - be it a sudden challenge, an unexpected change, or a moment of perceived difficulty - is precisely what is required for our Soul’s progress. This profound acceptance is the highest form of surrender. When we fully trust the Divine Power, we release the burden of needing to control outcomes. We become an instrument, allowing the Universal Will to flow through our actions without the egoic attachment to success or failure.

In the context of Samarpan Meditation, this trust is continuously reinforced. The daily practice is an exercise in letting go of the body's restlessness and the mind's endless planning. As the mind settles, we occasionally touch the stillness and clarity of the Soul. In those moments, we directly experience the benevolence and perfection of the Universal Energy, validating the truth that we are eternally supported. This direct experience transforms intellectual belief into unshakeable faith.

Moving away from body consciousness means recognising that the physical body is merely a temporary vehicle, a tool for the Soul's journey. When we trust the Divine Power, we stop clinging frantically to the form and start focusing on the quality of the journey - the quality of our thoughts, our intentions, and our service. Fear of death, fear of aging, and fear of loss - all products of identifying with the body - naturally begin to dissipate. Why fear the demise of a temporary tool when the true self, the Soul, is eternal and guided by the ultimate, unfailing Power?

To truly trust the Divine Power is to understand that the best possible outcome for our spiritual evolution is always being delivered by the universe. Swamiji’s teachings empower the seeker to step back from the frantic doing of the ego and rest in the profound being of the Soul. This resting, supported by absolute faith, allows the Divine Power to operate in its fullest capacity, orchestrating the external events and internal changes necessary for the final, beautiful realisation of our true, immortal nature. We stop living in fear of the future and begin living in the certain knowledge of divine support, letting go of the body’s limited concerns and embracing the Soul’s boundless reality.
