Just Like the Rain Drop….
If you sit and quietly observe the rainfall
and introspect you will find that the rain drops which fall from the sky teach
you a lot. Every drop which falls from the sky teaches you – whether it falls
on the ground, stones, buildings or rivers; it has only one objective – that of
reaching the vast ocean! Till that drop reaches the vast ocean it keeps on
trying and trying! This is because every drop starts its journey from the
ocean. When the drop left the collectivity it got lost and wanted desperately
to merge once again with the collectivity of the ocean. The number of attempts
the drop takes to reach the ocean will depend on its life experiences and
collective attempts at merging with the ocean.
When it rains, the drop falls on a
stone and within moments it vaporises; next it falls on hot sand and becomes
steam, later it falls on the ground and is absorbed by the earth. All this is
happening because the drop has forgotten why it is falling from the sky – and then
one day it remembers its objective is to reach the ocean. That day it will
discipline itself and start falling in collectivity with those drops who know
their objective too! Then the drop maintains its self-discipline and control
and stays with the collectivity. In this way as it falls in collectivity it
forms a small stream, which transforms into a large one, then into a rivulet
and then the river and ultimately reaches the ocean and loses its identity as a
river!
The drop has completed its journey from
the ocean where it had got separated and then again merged with the ocean after
countless attempts. This happened because the rain drops ultimately remembered their
objective and the importance of collectivity. Compare this to the souls attempts
for self-realisation and it will ring a bell deep within your soul.
Souls who are on the path to
self-realisation in this birth are those who have done severe penance in the
previous birth but maybe did not have the discipline and self-control to
complete the journey then. One needs to be disciplined and dedicated and have
tremendous self-control to practice meditation. How on earth can one control
one’s thoughts if one has no self-control over the body?
There are three categories of people –
1) those who have become the medium of negative energies – such people find
bliss only in breaking the law. 2) These types of people are in the middle, if
they are amidst a group of negative energy people they go with the flow and
become negative, but if they get a positive group, they become positive – they have
no control or discipline over themselves and follow a herd mentality. 3) The
third category is those who have complete control and self-discipline, no
matter what the situation or the collectivity, their soul has full control over
their body. They are always in bliss and in a happy state of mind. So, where do
you fall? Do introspect!
