Focus on the God Within

In India Saints and Masters have solved the mystery of life through the centuries – the Guru-shishya Parampara (Guru-disciple tradition) is very well known. All these saints and masters have experienced God within and tried to pass on their knowledge to their disciples. In the modern era there are several realised Saints and Masters who continue doing what the Saints and Masters of the past did – but on a more massive scale. The use of technology has made all this possible – this shows that the Guru-element is also evolving and changing with the times.

Through Ashtang Yog the Gurus are teaching us the techniques to look within and find God. Kundalini awakening, chakra cleansing, nadi (channel) cleansing all happens when we meditate under the guidance of a realised Master. When one finds God there are no words to describe that sensation – one can only say, ‘God IS’. God is the joy that one is seeking in everything. God is the sound of all vibrations in the universe – the sound of the universe ‘Aum’. God is all wisdom, love, calmness and peace. God is everything and everything is God; thus, there is a living relationship, a living communion, linking of all animate and inanimate creatures in this world – an immanent intelligence which is trying to bring out the God-essence that is veiled and hidden everywhere.

One needs to become sensitive enough to look beyond the veil of ignorance and that one can do through self-effort. One needs to have high moral and disciplinary standards while living in society. Slowly and surely the veil gets lifted and one realises that God is within – we are not the body, we are just the soul – we are nothing but pure vibration, we begin to see the link between man and all living things.

Once we reach this stage, we are approaching unity, the state of void, where you merge into nothingness. Right within us is the key to the mystery of life – why we were born? We ought to understand the purpose of our birth, and that can be understood by meditating on our soul.

Those who choose not to meditate in this birth as their body consciousness and their material desires far outweigh the sense of soul consciousness, such people have to live life and wait for their turn either later in this birth or the next birth to find the God within!
