Purpose of Life

Purpose of Life

If we lived a life filled with ecstasy, would we ever think that out life is stressful? If we were very blissful and ecstatic at this moment, would we think, “What is the purpose of life?” – No. Only when in some way, life has become burdensome, these questions arise: “To be or not to be?” “Is there a good enough purpose for me to exist?”

Our experience of life itself has not become grand and worthwhile enough. That is why we are trying to find a meaning. If just sitting and breathing made us ecstatic, we would never ask this question, would we? Before we ask ourselves this question, the most important thing is that we should learn to enhance this life to its maximum potential.

We are asking this question because in some way, the experience of life is not good enough. Most human beings have become a bundle of thoughts, emotions, ideas, opinions, and prejudices. That means our psychological drama is hijacking our life. Most of the time, we are only thinking about life, not living it. We have come here to live life, not to think about it.

When we talk about ‘life,’ we don’t even know what life is. All we have right now is our body and mind. We should try and make them as pleasant as we can. Only when our physical body and mind are in a state of pleasantness, everything within us works at its best. Our intelligence works at its best only when we are joyful and blissful. If a human being manages to remain in a continual state of blissfulness, let’s say for 24 hours, one’s intelligence will double. There is enough medical evidence to prove this today.

Do not try to invent all kinds of purposes for life. If we explore the nature of this life that we are, we will know that life does not need any purpose – life is too phenomenal by itself. If we experience this life in its fullness, life is a purpose unto itself.

We ‘think’ life is stressful, whereas in reality, it is only a happening. All the stress lies in our mind as desires and expectation, worries and whatnot. The way we think creates the stress. Accepting and flowing with life as it happens makes life blissful and joyous.
