The Clock is Ticking, so is our Life
The Clock is Ticking,
so is our Life
Time, the silent and relentless force,
governs every moment of our lives. The clock is always ticking, reminding us of
the fleeting nature of existence. Yet, in the rush of life, we often forget
this simple truth. We become consumed by the pursuit of material wealth,
achievements, and temporary pleasures, losing sight of the essence of life
itself. Every tick of the clock is an opportunity to pause, reflect, and
realign ourselves with the deeper purpose of our existence.
Life is a finite gift, yet we often live
as if it is infinite. Days turn into weeks, weeks into years, and we find
ourselves caught in the cycle of doing, achieving, and planning for the future.
The question arises: are we truly living, or are we merely existing?
Spirituality invites us to step out of this mechanical rhythm and look within,
to understand the true nature of time and its role in our lives.
The ticking clock is not a reminder of
death but a call to live fully and consciously. Time, when approached with
mindfulness, becomes a sacred tool for self-discovery. Each moment is an
opportunity to align with our higher purpose and connect with the divine
within. Instead of being overwhelmed by the brevity of life, we can use this
awareness to prioritise what truly matters - love, compassion, self-realisation,
and service to others.
Shivkrupanand Swamiji often emphasises
the importance of living in the present moment. Meditation, as taught in Himalayan
Samarpan Meditation, is a powerful practice that helps us anchor ourselves in
the now. By quieting the mind and transcending the endless chatter of thoughts,
we begin to experience the timeless essence of our being. In this state, time
no longer feels like a constraint but a flow we can align with harmoniously.
When we realise that the clock is
ticking, we also recognise the impermanence of all that we hold dear in the
material world. Wealth, status, relationships, and possessions are transient.
Clinging to them creates fear and anxiety. Instead, spirituality teaches us to
cultivate detachment - not in the sense of abandoning life but in living with
an understanding that nothing external defines us. This shift from attachment
to awareness transforms the way we experience time and life itself.
The ticking clock can also be a
motivator to let go of procrastination, resentment, and regret. How often do we
postpone the pursuit of our spiritual growth, waiting for the ‘right time’? In
truth, the right time is always now. The more we delay, the more opportunities
slip away. Similarly, holding onto grudges or past mistakes wastes precious
moments. Forgiveness and acceptance free us to embrace the present with an open
heart.
Surrendering to the divine flow, as
taught by Swamiji, helps us transcend the fear of time running out. When we
trust that everything unfolds according to a higher plan, we release the need
to control every aspect of our lives. This surrender brings peace and clarity,
allowing us to make the best use of our time without being bound by it.
As we journey through life, let us not
lose ourselves in the endless pursuit of what is fleeting. Instead, let us turn
inward and reconnect with the eternal within us. By living with awareness and
purpose, we transform every tick of the clock into a step closer to self-realisation.
Each moment becomes a divine gift, a chance to love, grow, and align with the
universal consciousness.
The clock is ticking, and so is our
life. Let this truth inspire us, not with fear, but with a renewed commitment
to live authentically and spiritually. In embracing the impermanence of time,
we uncover the timeless nature of our soul. Let us cherish every moment, for it
is in the present that the divine reveals itself, and life finds its truest
meaning.
