Inner Joy and Wellbeing
Inner Joy and
Wellbeing
In the depths of every human being lies
a natural state of inner joy and wellbeing. This joy does not depend on
material possessions, achievements, or the approval of others. It is a quiet,
steady glow that arises from the soul itself. In today’s fast-paced world, many
have lost touch with this innate joy, seeking happiness outside, in fleeting
pleasures and external validations. But real happiness and wellbeing are not
found in the outer world—they are rediscovered within.
Swami Shivkrupanandji, through the path
of Himalayan Samarpan Dhyanyog, teaches that the true foundation of wellbeing
is the connection with our inner self. When we sit in meditation with surrender
and awareness, we begin to shift our attention from the restless noise of the
mind to the silent presence of the soul. In this silence, the mind begins to
settle, and a subtle joy arises — a joy that is not created by anything but
simply revealed as always being there.
Swamiji emphasises the importance of
letting go of unnecessary thoughts and worries. Our mind often creates stories
based on past experiences or future anxieties. This constant mental chatter
blocks the experience of the present moment, where our inner wellbeing resides.
When we meditate, we are taught not to resist these thoughts but to simply
observe them, allowing them to pass. Over time, this practice clears the mind
and makes room for peace and contentment to blossom.
Inner joy is a by-product of alignment
with our true nature. This alignment happens when the soul begins to guide the
mind, rather than the other way around. Through regular practice of Samarpan
Dhyanyog, we start to live in soul consciousness - more from the heart, with
sincerity, compassion, and acceptance. We begin to respond to life rather than
react. This brings emotional balance, clarity, and a deep sense of wellbeing
that is not shaken by external ups and downs.
Swamiji often reminds us that the more
we stay connected to our inner self, the more we remain untouched by the
fluctuations of the world. Whether situations are favourable or not, the one
who is centred in the self remains calm and joyful. This inner balance reflects
in our health, relationships, and outlook on life. It empowers us to handle
challenges with grace and see beauty even in difficult moments.
The journey toward inner joy also
involves deep trust and surrender — to the process, to the Guru, and to the
divine plan of life. When we surrender, we stop trying to control every outcome
and instead open ourselves to the flow of higher wisdom. This trust dissolves
fear and anxiety, making space for joy and serenity.
Ultimately, inner wellbeing is not about
avoiding life’s challenges but meeting them with a grounded awareness. It is
about living in such a way that peace becomes our natural state, and joy our
quiet companion. The teachings of Swami Shivkrupanandji are a powerful reminder
that this inner joy is not far away — it is who we are at the core. Through
consistent meditation and surrender, we begin to live in harmony with ourselves
and the universe.
