Nothing is Pure or Impure
Nothing is Pure or
Impure
In the eyes of true wisdom, nothing on
this earth is pure or impure. These divisions are creations of the human mind,
rooted in perceptions, conditioning, and the limited understanding of duality.
Through the light of Himalayan Samarpan Dhyanyog and the teachings of His
Holiness Shivkrupanand Swamiji, we are gently shown that the earth, in its
essence, is completely neutral - neither sacred nor profane, neither pure nor
impure. It simply is. It exists in a state of perfect balance and
acceptance, offering itself unconditionally to all life.
When we look deeply at nature, we
observe that everything coexists harmoniously. Rivers do not judge the soil
they flow through; trees do not discriminate between the creatures that shelter
under them. The earth embraces the fragrant flower and the decaying leaf with
the same love. Purity and impurity are human labels that veil the true unity
and divinity present in all existence. Meditation through Samarpan Dhyanyog
allows us to drop these mental filters and experience life as it truly is - whole,
undivided, and perfect.
Swamiji teaches that in the ultimate
spiritual state, all notions of division fall away. As long as we live through
the mind, we categorize everything - this is good, that is bad; this is pure,
that is impure. But as we deepen our connection with our inner self through
meditation, we begin to see that all is part of the same divine play. Earth
does not resist the footprints of those who walk upon it, nor does it reject
the rains that flood its surface. It accepts everything with equanimity,
teaching us the great lesson of surrender.
By practicing Samarpan Dhyanyog, we
learn to surrender our judgments and preconceptions. Meditation brings us back
to a natural state of being, where we recognize that the divine presence exists
equally in all things. Whether it is the peak of a mountain kissed by clouds or
the depths of a muddy swamp, the same life force pulses through all. The earth,
untainted and all-accepting, reflects our own original nature, which is pure
consciousness itself.
The mind's habit of labelling some
things as pure and others as impure leads to division within and without. It
creates separation between ourselves and the world, between ourselves and our
own experiences. But meditation gradually dissolves these walls. Swamiji often
reminds us that when we meditate, we simply observe without judgment. In this
observation, we begin to experience a deeper connection with everything around
us. We begin to feel the oneness that underlies all forms, and in that
experience, the very concepts of purity and impurity lose their meaning.
Living in harmony with the earth means
seeing beyond appearances. It means recognizing the sacredness in every stone,
every breeze, every droplet of water. It means understanding that all things
are expressions of the same universal energy. Nothing in existence is outside
of that wholeness. When we live with this awareness, life becomes simple and
peaceful. We no longer seek to divide or categorize; we simply live in the
presence of truth.
Samarpan Dhyanyog is the path of
returning to this pure, undivided state. It teaches us that the ultimate
impurity is not outside us but in the mind’s attachment to duality. True purity
lies in experiencing everything with a heart free of judgment. Through daily
meditation, we cleanse the mind of these attachments and begin to perceive the
world through the eyes of the soul, where all is one.
Thus, through the loving and simple
teachings of Shivkrupanand Swamiji and the gentle path of Himalayan Samarpan
Dhyanyog, we are invited to return to our natural state - to walk this earth
with eyes that see no division, a heart that knows no separation, and a spirit
that celebrates the unity of all existence.
