Inner Stillness in Turbulent Times
Inner Stillness in
Turbulent Times
In the ever-changing waves of life,
where uncertainty, chaos, and conflict often surround us, the most precious
treasure we can possess is inner stillness. While the world rushes around us
and circumstances shift without warning, the one place that can offer real
peace is within. Himalayan Samarpan Dhyanyog and the timeless guidance of
Sadguru Shivkrupanand Swamiji reveal this sacred space - an unmoving centre
within the heart, untouched by outer storms.
Swamiji often reminds us that the outer
world will always be in motion. Just as winds stir the surface of a lake,
emotions, events, and relationships stir the surface of our mind. But deep
beneath the ripples lies the still water - clear, silent, and undisturbed. This
depth is our true nature. When we live only at the surface, we are tossed
around by every wave. But when we learn to dive deep through meditation, we
experience a stillness that no external force can shake.
Samarpan Dhyanyog offers a very simple
yet profound path to enter this inner silence. By sitting in surrender, with no
expectations and no effort, we allow the energy of the Gurutattva to take us
inward. There is no need to suppress thoughts or fight restlessness. We simply
observe, allow, and offer everything into the divine lap of the Guru. Over
time, the layers of noise begin to dissolve, and what remains is a natural
stillness - like the quiet after a storm.
Swamiji teaches that this stillness is
not passivity. It is not escape. It is deep awareness that sees everything
without becoming entangled in it. In turbulent times, when fear and anxiety try
to pull us away from our centre, it is this inner stillness that becomes our
anchor. It allows us to act without reaction, to move with grace, and to stay
rooted in the soul even when the outer world feels unsteady.
This stillness is not found by trying
harder, but by letting go. The more we release our control, the more we rest in
the divine presence. Samarpan means total unconditional surrender - letting go
of the ego that wants to fix, fight, or flee. In surrender, we become available
to a higher intelligence, a silent guidance that operates beyond our
understanding. In this guidance, we are protected, held, and led.
In the presence of the Guru, even our
storms become teachers. Turbulent moments are not punishments; they are
opportunities to deepen our awareness. When challenges come, instead of
resisting them, we can sit in meditation and observe how the mind reacts. We
begin to see the patterns of fear, attachment, and control. And in that seeing,
we begin to be free. The Guru’s energy dissolves these patterns - not by force,
but through pure grace.
The world may not become calm, but we
can. This is the promise of Samarpan Dhyanyog. It does not ask us to change our
life, but to change the way we relate to life. It offers us a space within that
is always safe, always silent, and always sacred. In that space, we are no
longer victims of the world - we are witnesses. We are no longer scattered - we
are centred. This centre is the soul, and the soul is ever still.
As Swamiji says, “Become like the sky - vast,
still, and untouched by passing clouds.” The clouds will come and go, but the
sky remains. In the same way, let us stay rooted in inner stillness, in the
presence of the Guru, and walk through turbulent times with peace in our hearts
and light in our eyes.
