We Are Afraid of Being Simple
We Are Afraid of Being Simple
Human beings often complicate
life unnecessarily. We love complexities, we love to be entangled in
relationships, and we expose ourselves to all kinds of experiences. Yet, deep
within, we are afraid of being simple. Simplicity feels too bare, too vulnerable,
and we worry: What will people think? This fear of others’ opinions
keeps us trapped in layers of artificiality.
The more complicated we
appear, the more intellectual we think we are. Society often equates complexity
with intelligence, and simplicity with naivety. But this is a misunderstanding.
True wisdom lies in simplicity. To be simple is to be in tune with oneself,
with nature, and with the rhythm of existence. Simplicity is not weakness - it
is strength. It is the courage to live authentically, without masks.
Why are we afraid of being
simple? Because simplicity strips away pretences. It reveals our true self, and
we fear that others may judge us. We live in constant anxiety about what others
think. This fear creates tension, stress, and disharmony. We become performers
in the theatre of life, forgetting that peace comes only when we are aligned
with our inner truth.
Simplicity is harmony. When we
are simple, we are natural. We do not pretend, we do not struggle to impress,
we do not live for others’ approval. We live in peace with ourselves. This
harmony brings joy, clarity, and freedom. It is the fragrance of a life lived
in awareness.
Meditation is the path to
simplicity. In meditation, the mind quiets, the heart opens, and pretences
dissolve. We begin to see that simplicity is our true nature. Under the
guidance of a realised master like Shree Shivkrupanand Swamiji, meditation
transforms life. The Satguru’s presence awakens consciousness, helping us shed
the unnecessary complications we cling to. Slowly, we discover the beauty of
being simple.
Simplicity does not mean
renouncing life or avoiding experiences. It means living with awareness,
without unnecessary clutter. It means being present, authentic, and free. When
we meditate, we connect to universal consciousness. In that connection, fear dissolves.
We no longer worry about what others think. We live in truth, and truth is
always simple.
The more we practice
meditation, the more we realise that simplicity is not something to be feared -
it is something to be embraced. It is the doorway to peace. It is the essence
of wisdom. It is the natural state of the soul.
So, let us not be afraid of
being simple. Let us meditate, let us align with nature, let us live
authentically. In simplicity, we find harmony. In harmony, we find peace. And
in peace, we discover the bliss of our true self.
