Union with Universal Consciousness
Union with Universal
Consciousness
Union with universal
consciousness is the ultimate goal of the spiritual journey. It is the state
where the individual self dissolves into the infinite, where the boundaries of
ego and identity fade away, and only pure awareness remains. This union is not
achieved through intellectual effort or worldly accomplishments, but through
meditation and surrender. When we sit in silence, turning inward, we begin to
cleanse the mind of restlessness and align our inner energy with the rhythm of
the cosmos. In that alignment, the separation between “I” and “the universe”
disappears, and we experience oneness.
Meditation is the doorway to
this union. At first, the mind resists, filling us with thoughts, desires, and
fears. But with discipline and consistency, the mind begins to quiet. Under the
guidance of a realised Master, such as Shree Shivkrupanand Swamiji, meditation
becomes effortless. His Himalayan Samarpan Meditation teaches complete
surrender. In surrender, the ego loosens its grip, and the seeker experiences
freedom. The practice is simple: sit, surrender, and allow the Guru‑energies to
flow. In that surrender, the individual self dissolves, and the universal self
shines.
This union is the ultimate
present moment. It is not about escaping life, but about living life more
fully. When we merge with universal consciousness, we discover that we are not
separate from the world around us. We are the trees, the rivers, the mountains,
the stars. We are the silence that holds everything together. In this state, we
radiate joy and selfless love, because we recognise that all beings are part of
the same consciousness. Love becomes natural, compassion becomes effortless,
and peace becomes unshakable.
Consider the example of a
seeker who has struggled with anxiety and fear. Through meditation, they begin
to experience moments of silence. In those moments, they realise that their
fears are not real—they are projections of the mind. As they surrender more
deeply, they feel a connection to something vast and infinite. Their anxiety
dissolves, replaced by a sense of belonging to the universe itself. This is
union with universal consciousness, where the individual dissolves into the
infinite, and peace arises naturally.
Union with universal
consciousness is not a distant goal; it is available in every moment. Each
breath, each thought, each action can be an opportunity to surrender. When we
live with awareness, discipline, and simplicity, we align ourselves with the
universal rhythm. We no longer struggle to control life; we allow life to flow
through us. In that flow, we discover that we are not separate—we are one.
Ultimately, union with
universal consciousness is liberation. It is the state where we live in the
present moment, free from illusion, free from ego, free from fear. It is the
state where we radiate joy and selfless love, where life is lived in harmony with
the universe. Through meditation, surrender, and the grace of the Master, we
discover this union. We live in ease, radiant with peace, connected yet free,
dissolved into the infinite.
