Making our Energy Field our True World
Making our Energy Field our True World
We live in a constant state of geographic longing. How
many times have you thought, “If only I could move to a quiet cabin in the
mountains,” or “If only I could live by the ocean, then I would finally
find my peace”?
It is a deeply human urge to believe that a change in
coordinates equals a change in consciousness. We pack our bags, cross borders,
and shift our addresses, chasing an external sanctuary. But geography is an
illusion when it comes to the soul. If you are chaotic within, the most serene
mountain landscape will eventually just become a background for your anxiety.
The ultimate spiritual journey is not from one
physical place to another; it is the transition from the limited self to the
limitless. There is no outer journey that can fix an inner misalignment. True
arrival happens when you realize that the ultimate destination is exactly where
you are standing right now.
A common misconception in spiritual circles is that
connecting with nature requires physical isolation - that you must be
surrounded by towering trees or pristine rivers to experience oneness.
But here is the fundamental truth: You do not visit
nature; you are nature. The physical body you carry is just a piece of
this planet. Every breath you take is an active, unbroken conversation with the
atmosphere. The water rushing through your veins and the minerals
structuralizing your bones are constantly being cycled through the earth. You
cannot step out of nature because you are an expression of it.
Becoming one with nature isn’t about moving to a
remote village; it is about dropping the psychological boundaries that make you
feel separate from your current surroundings. If you can simply sit, even for a
moment, without going anywhere in your body, mind, emotion, or imagination, the
illusion of separation dissolves. Right where you are sitting - whether in a
high-rise apartment or a crowded city - you can experience the absolute
stillness of existence.
When we look at a map, we see lines, borders, and
terrain. But spirituality introduces us to an entirely different kind of map - our
internal geography.
In meditation, the goal is not to travel to a higher
plane or escape to a mental paradise. True meditation is the art of arriving
exactly where you already are. There is a beautiful Zen story about a young
disciple who asked his widely travelled master, “You have been to so many
places in the world. Which is the best place to live in the summer? Which is
the best place during the monsoon? And where should one go during the winter?”
The master smiled and replied, “Wherever you are, that is the best place to
be.”
When you sit in meditation, you realise there is
nowhere to go. Because "nowhere" is not an empty void; it is the
limitless nature of your own consciousness. This is the ultimate shift - moving
from the limited coordinates of a physical address to the limitless space
within. When you cultivate this inner landscape, you transform yourself in such
a way that you can remain utterly blissful and anchored, whether you are
sitting in a quiet room or navigating a chaotic city street.
Most people live as prisoners of their circumstances.
If the weather is nice, they are happy; if someone speaks rudely to them, their
entire day is ruined. Their internal state is completely dependent on their
external environment.
But a profound shift happens when you stop managing
the world outside and start stabilizing your own energy field. Your energy
field should be your primary residence. When this field becomes vibrant,
stable, and inclusive, your surroundings begin to take cues from you, rather
than the other way around.
Many people spend their lives fighting their own
thoughts - trying desperately to push away the negative and grasp onto the
positive. But fighting your thoughts is like fighting your own ghosts; you are
the one creating them, and you are the one suffering from the battle. Instead
of engaging in this internal warfare, focus on stabilising your life energies.
When your energy field is anchored in stillness, thoughts and emotions become
minor ripples on the surface of a deep ocean. You carry your sanctuary with
you, and suddenly, the question of "where you live" loses its grip on
your happiness.
External shifts can be supportive. A clean space, a
quiet room, or a walk in the park can temporarily soothe the mind. But these
are secondary arrangements.
The ultimate goal of a spiritual life is to reach a
state of inner engineering where you are thoroughly at home in your own skin.
You no longer look at a physical location to give you peace; you bring peace to
the location.
So, does it matter where we live? Only if you are
looking outward. The moment you turn inward, the boundaries dissolve. When you
make your energy field your world and realise your connection to everything
around you, you are no longer bound by geography. You are limitless - and when
you are limitless, every place is the perfect place to be.
