Highest Realisation

Most of us believe in God, some don’t, some simply do not have an opinion on the subject. In the modern era everything is subject to verification – children today do not accept anything unless it can be tested and proved. Which is fine, it has to be so. Even in spirituality, all the Masters to date have said do not accept anything blindly, faith also has to have a measure of proof.

Swamiji also tells us to attend the 8-days meditation camp, then water the spiritual seed implanted within us by meditating for 45 days in the centre, and if we feel that there has been no impact on us, we can leave! But in the last 13 years or so since I have been practicing this meditation and after introducing it to hundreds of souls, I have only known one person who did not continue, and he too was impacted and does meditate, but does so independently – following different Masters over a period of time. The trick is to stick with one and go the whole hog – the spiritual experiences come and our faith goes on increasing.

Meditation under the guidance of Swamiji helps us realise that we are not the body, we are not the mind, we are just the soul. When soul realisation happens our whole idea of life changes. The past does not matter, the future is not here as yet and hence we learn to live in the moment.

We realise that everything that is happening on earth is for a purpose. Things happened and we felt that we were ‘doing’ it, but with self-realisation comes the knowledge that whatever is happening is happening as per divine will – ‘I’ has no role in it!

Everything in life happens according to Divine Will. We are all puppets dancing to His music. Life just happens, it is our resistance and ego which creates the conflict and pain. Acceptance leads to peace and quiet – the mind becomes your friend and not your enemy. Once we accept that everything happens as per God’s will, we just stop worrying and play the part that the Divine has planned for us. No part is big or small. Only by knowing this truth can we become great. It is immaterial where we are or what we are doing.

The most important thing to know is that we are just instruments in the hands of the Divine – that is the highest realisation. Know that every moment that Great Presence is within us, functioning through us and we are nothing but His instruments!
