A Peaceful Life

If you had the choice to give yourself one gift – what would it be? More money, wealth, better relationships, fantastic career, a name for oneself, or simply inner harmony? One can have a peaceful life simply by removing ego and desires completely from the equation and then one can visualise oneself as a peaceful being. Just by observing the experiences we have obtained in life till date, we will be in a position to appreciate the importance of thoughts and emotions as we go from one day to another!

Each day is filled with experiences, some repeat themselves and some are new. Just by sitting still in meditation every day, we will be able to get a perspective and feel comfortable in spite of the goings on around us.

When one is at peace, one thinks clearly and controls negative emotions in a far more effective manner than when one is in a disturbed state of mind. In a peaceful state one makes wise decisions related to different aspects of one’s life – finance, relationships and so on just because of a calm and stable mind.

In fact, all aspects of a person’s life benefit from spending some peaceful and quiet time alone. When one is contained, still and peaceful, one can give one’s best to everything one undertakes since the mind develops the power to focus with dedication.

If one wishes to experience peace, just start meditating regularly, stay with your soul as you explore your inner being, the calm and soothing vibrations will bring you to a state of inner peace, then no matter what happens in the material world, you will have gained an inner perspective which will keep you detached and make you rise above the happenings in the material world. One will not get affected by whatever is happening – be it positive or negative. One just learns to witness and maintain one’s balance, equanimity and poise – inner peace means a peaceful life.

This peaceful state comes gradually as one continues one’s spiritual practice, meditation, helping others selflessly, giving selflessly and in general living a selfless life dedicated to the service of humanity. One begins to receive blessings of the souls one helps and the divinity sends its blessings in a myriad of different ways.

Everyone seems to be running in circles all around us these days. It is our choice, if we want to follow the herd and live meaninglessly or step aside, make a wiser choice and live a peaceful life. Recharge our inner batteries and see our entire life becoming beautiful, one day at a time.
