Love All Equally
It is said that a
person who loves all equally is wise beyond words. Such a person loves equally
and unconditionally. If we look at Swamiji, the first thing you feel in his
presence is unconditional love, and it is an overwhelming feeling. When we love
someone, whether the relationship is parent-child, boy-girl, student-teacher,
friend-friend, boss-employee – somewhere in this relationship there is ego and
a feeling of ownership. One talks of my son, my daughter, my dad, my mom, my
friend and so on. Everything is connected to ‘me’. When ‘I’, ‘me’, ‘myself’
come into the picture, rest assured your ego is talking.
When we progress in
meditation and our chakras are cleansed – we need to meditate for at least half
an hour daily, morning and evening to maintain that state, then we feel the
love actually flowing from our being. Not only do we feel it, others who come
into contact with us also feel it, voice it.
The first and most
primary relationship that we have is with our own self in divine union with ‘existence’.
Love is the natural way of being for humans. When love emanates from our
being, our being sends vibrations which bring us in harmony with universal love
which is at the core of all creation. We are beings of vibration and the
frequency of love carries the harmonic wavelengths that represent the very
essence and presence of life.
When we fear the loss
of love, we begin our journey towards suffering. Keeping the heart open to
receive paves the way for all other relationships. After all, loving attitudes
create loving outcomes. Love is the ultimate soul food: the very sustenance of
our hearts. With it we can attain the seemingly impossible. Without it, we
become lost, destabilised and uninspired.
Don’t make distinctions
in love. Always be mindful and heart-awakened to the awareness that love is
ever-present. We need to develop
tolerance and a deep understanding for all beings and then wee will know the
true essence of love. Love is the aperture of all divine thought. It rises as
an omnipresent field of all that is and when they meet, they come into union. When
the union takes place, we have awakening and thus experience the consciousness
of creation.
Love is the destroyer
of all illusions – it is omnipresent, timeless, and whole – it cannot be
divided. It awakens you and takes you into light. Swamiji has recently sent
messages to the effect that if you don’t get meditation ‘love’ is the way to
go. It is simpler and within each and every person’s ability.
Love is the ultimate
resilience. It repeatedly takes us to our own inherent nature. It gathers up
all the fragmented parts of our being and slowly merges them into the whole. If
we learned to love wholeheartedly, continuously, playfully – we would know its true
value and worth!
