Truth and Lies

Truth and Lies

From a very young age we are taught to be honest, not to lie and so on. As children we are all very innocent and invariably tell the truth. But as we grow up, we notice for ourselves that the people around us are stingy with the truth and generous with lies. The question is – why do people lie? People invariably lie to get out of a sticky situation, to cheat someone, to get an unfair advantage over someone and there could be a score of other reasons.

The problem with lies is that the impact of such lies never lasts – as the truth has strange ways of coming out! Also, those who lie need to have a phenomenal memory – they need to remember exactly what was said, to whom it was said and when it was said. Over a period of time such persons get caught in their lies because they themselves goof up and mix up the lies spoken to different people. Then to get out of that sticky situation they lie some more, till a point is reached that the entire house of cards built on lies collapses – and you stand exposed and shamed!

The best thing is to be honest and tell the truth – here no memory is required as truth has its own energy, its own dynamics – it may be bitter, but it has to be swallowed. You do not require a phenomenal memory to tell the truth, because the truth is the truth!  When we tell the truth, we are confident that whatever we say will not come back on us – you may have a tough time in life if you are honest – but that is only in the short term, that is because it takes a certain kind of person to accept the truth and move on in life. Truth is always a bitter pill to swallow, but that is no reason to lie.

When people around you realise that you tell the truth no matter what, then those that appreciate you will stick around and those who are afraid will move out of your circle. I am sure most of you would have observed this. Truth has its own vibration and one can sense when someone is telling the truth or otherwise.

As we meditate and learn the language of vibrations, one instinctively ‘knows’ whether a person is lying or telling the truth. The more you become one with your inner core, you will notice only those people who vibrate in your frequency will hang out with you, and others will move away. You will automatically start being protected from the dishonest types – so meditation is helpful in living in society in so many ways. Hence, it is important to meditate regularly.
