God is in Everything

You will find God when you learn to see God – God is present everywhere, he is omnipresent, he is in nature and he exists within each and every one of us. I will narrate a little story. A person was working on a site in a remote village in a very poor part of the country. He used to travel daily from home to the site and back, on the way back he always saw a little boy studying in the light of a Shiva temple. After several days, curiosity got the better of him and he stopped his car and went to see him and as he approached, he saw the boy had a smile on his face as he continued studying. He had carried a packet of food for him as he did not think it fit to approach empty handed. He asked the boy why he was studying in the temple and why did he have a smile on his face. The boy replied that I smiled because God was bringing me food, whenever I am hungry God always provides for me. He said that we are very poor and I stay with my mother, there is no electricity at home so I come here and study. He excused himself and went home, shared the food with his mother and returned. The man told him that he was not God, but the boy refused to accept that and thanked God for the food. A couple of months later he noticed that the boy was no longer sitting in the temple as the lockdown ensured that the light in the temple too was switched off. Some more days later the man had gone to the crematorium for the last rights of a relative and he saw the boy over there. The boy recognised him and greeted him, after enquiring about the boy, the boy replied that his mother had passed away due to covid and he now stayed in the crematorium as he had found God here. He worked there and studied too, and he told the man that with his mother’s blessings he had passed his SSC exams with flying colours and stood first in his class. His teacher had now sponsored his education and he had to attend online classes, but he did not have a smartphone. The boy was so confident about God providing for him, that the man quietly gave the boy the smartphone he had newly acquired and asked him to use it for his studies. His joy knew no bounds – his faith in ‘God’ paid off – but the boy did not know that the man had seen God in the boy, as the boy showed him everything that was good on this earth. God actually lies in the good in each and every one of us.

We can awaken the good within us through meditation. Regular meditation helps you find God within, helps you become one with universal consciousness, once that happens grace starts flowing through you. The emptier you become the better medium you are for transferring your Guru’s grace to those who you come in touch with. This is very subtle and you do not even know that it is happening – that is the beauty of God within you!
