Follow Your Own Path
We are all
creatures of destiny and since the time of our birth we feel that our life’s
course has been set for us. We go through all the motions of getting an
education, taking up a job, creating a business, falling in love, raising a
family and so on – it is like a template for modern day living. Very few people,
the rare ones, manage to get away from the humdrum of day-to-day living and
chalk out another path for themselves.
We all make
mistakes, and when we realise that we change our path isn’t it? There isn’t one
set path, but when we lose our way, the first thing we try to do is find our
way back to the main road, to the highway so that we can find our bearings and
then proceed, isn’t it!
Actually,
there is no ready-made path. As we live life, as we grow, we create our own
path and each individual passes along his own path. There is no public path, no
super highway and even though these do exist we need to find a way to get onto
such super highways in order to reach our destination ‘faster’.
If we are
lucky, we find out that our interest is not so much on the material goings on
in society, but on our own inner well-being. When this feeling becomes really
strong, suddenly we find that a Realised Master has entered our life – all this
is Divine planning – we just entered the lane leading to the super highway!
Once a Realised Master takes under his wing, we find that our inner progress is
now on the fast track. This does not mean that we do what we want and get away
with it – we need to follow the Master’s instructions, do our own spiritual
practice and soon we find that our life is getting transformed day by day. We
are now on the super highway!
The Master
gives us the clarity to view our own path – whether we choose to follow this
path or not is our choice. If we do follow it, we regain the clarity of vision
which we had lost for several births, and now we can again see through and
through, we have regained the path. This path is not an external one, it is the
one that takes us within – an inner focusing of energy.
The door to
the inner path was always open, but our focus was outside, once we look inward,
we find the door and peep inside. That first look itself charms us into going
further inside. Once we get used to the silence and bliss, we carry it with us
always – we are now on the super highway called the Satguru – who will drop us
off at the point where we have to continue our journey alone.
This is the
last mile connectivity – no one accompanies us on this path – we have to go
alone. It appears daunting and many fail to continue – but if you do and then
you reach your inner abode – then there is nowhere left to go – you have
reached the place where only love, peace, bliss, compassion exist!
