Reality is Simple
Reality is Simple
Life, as we commonly
experience it, appears complicated. There are ups and downs, joys and sorrows,
successes and failures. The material world is filled with issues - family
responsibilities, work pressures, love and hate, ambition and desire, jealousy
and competition. We spend much of our time entangled in these experiences,
believing them to be reality. But is this truly reality in the spiritual sense?
The spiritual perspective
reveals something deeper: reality is simple. The complexities of the material
world are like waves on the surface of the ocean. They rise and fall, but
beneath them lies the still, vast water. Similarly, beneath the noise of worldly
experiences lies the quiet truth of our being.
Meditation is the doorway to
this truth. Under the guidance of a living realised Master, such as Himalayan
Master Shree Shivkrupanand Swamiji, we discover that reality is not the chaos
of the mind but the silence of the soul. Swamiji bestows the gift of Samarpan
Meditation, where complete surrender becomes the path. In surrender, the
restless mind begins to dissolve, and the seeker experiences the simplicity of
reality.
Meditation is the only
medicine for inner well-being. Just as the body needs food for nourishment, the
soul needs meditation for peace. Yet it is not good to think too much about
meditation itself. Overthinking creates expectations, and expectations create
restlessness. Meditation is not about achieving something - it is about being.
Simply keep practicing, without analysis, until you realise that nothing that
comes to the mind has anything to do with the real you.
The real you is beyond
thoughts, beyond emotions, beyond desires. Thoughts may come and go, but they
are not your essence. Emotions may rise and fall, but they do not define you.
Desires may appear and disappear, but they are not your truth. In meditation,
you gradually see that the mind’s movements are separate from your being. You
are the witness, the consciousness, the silence.
When one remains rooted in
oneself, the absence or presence of anyone does not affect us. This is the
simplicity of reality. Relationships, possessions, and circumstances may
change, but the soul remains untouched. In this state, one is free from dependence
on external validation. One lives in ease, in harmony with oneself and with the
universe.
Reality is simple because it
is unchanging. The material world is complex because it is constantly changing.
When we identify with the changing, we suffer. When we rest in the unchanging,
we find peace. Meditation helps us shift this identification - from the
temporary to the eternal, from the noisy to the silent, from the complex to the
simple.
In the presence of Swamiji,
meditation becomes effortless. His aura purifies the seeker, dissolving the
restless vibrations of the mind. The external noise fades, and the inner
silence begins to resound. This silence is not emptiness - it is fullness. It
is the bliss of consciousness, the joy of being.
Ultimately, reality is not the
ups and downs of life, nor the endless drama of the material world. Reality is
the soul, the consciousness, the silence within. It is simple, pure, and
eternal. Through meditation, surrender, and the grace of the Master, we realise
this truth. We live in ease, free from the bondage of thoughts and desires,
radiant with joy and selfless love.
