Result of Focusing on your Soul

His Holiness Shivkrupanand Swami has given us a mantra – “I am a Holy Soul, I am a Pure Soul”. When we sit for meditation, we chant this mantra thrice and then go into meditation. This mantra should be chanted with the complete sense and feeling of being a ‘soul’ and not a physical being. By doing this we will be in a position to internalise this mantra. Once we internalise this mantra certain changes start happening within us which we should be aware of. We start realising and experiencing that we are a soul and our soul consciousness grows day by day, till a point is reached where we are perpetually in a blissful state even though we are doing all our normal activities while living in society.

Once your soul gets control over your body and your body consciousness levels drop away, an aura will start to develop around your body, this is nothing but the development of the energy body which every human being has, but is unaware of due to ignorance. The development of your aura gives you protection from untoward incidents, accidents – this is the external protection, the other is that it shields you from negative thoughts. In this way no external garbage enters your mind, thus keeping it peaceful. Even if your attention falls on accidents or bad incidents your chitta will not give much importance to such incidents and keep you protected from adverse effects. If you are witness to any such incident your soul will guide you to do the correct thing by either calling for help or by trying to help those in distress.

You start experiencing a perpetual state of satisfaction – for spiritual progress it is very important to have inner satisfaction, this is because an unsatisfied person’s chitta is always directed outwards to the material world. Finally, you will find that your body is now completely surrendered to your soul. Once this happens you will be free of the sense of influence of the body. This state itself is called liberation or the state of moksha. Your desire to live a very long life will also dissolve and so will your fear of death! You will be in a state to embrace death at any moment; when you no longer fear death, there is no desire to live and when this happens there is no incentive for taking another birth!

You begin to experience complete peace and satisfaction in this lifetime itself. You begin to live your life in bliss, peace with no fear of death – this is the state of ‘spiritual death’. When you achieve this state there is no need for another birth. Remember we are only responsible for our own self – do not try to rid the world of darkness, because darkness has never gone from the world and never will. The aim should be to ‘light our own lamp’ and create our own 15-20 feet aura, which will be our own world filled with radiance, peace and security.
